Lessons Learned from Writing a Blog

In addition to publishing our book, Javier and I decided to start a Mindset Wizardry blog this year. Since August, we've been publishing weekly and have covered a wide variety of topics. It has been fun for us to share our thoughts and perspectives and we plan to continue this next year. As we close the year and reflect, we thought it might be helpful to share a few of our lessons learned from writing a blog.

1) It is helpful to keep a queue of ideas and resources. We have a spreadsheet of different topics and a folder full of notes and resources in our Drop Box to inspire us. We also brainstorm ideas and add them to our inspiration folder, so we never run out of topics.

2) We write most of our blogs ahead of time so we can select from several topics on posting day. This really helps when we are busy with other things or not inspired to write. This also allows us time to edit each other's work - the end product is MUCH better with both of our thoughts included.

3) Software makes the process more productive. We use Trello to plan all our social media - so we know who is posting what and when. We use the blog feature in Square Space which is nice for archiving, editing, and formatting and Canva is fantastic for creating graphics.

We hope that you enjoy reading our blog and if you have any suggested topics, please share them with us.
