Book Excerpt 14 - Thinking Patterns

Changing your thinking patterns can and often will change the outcome. You hear this with elite athletes all the time. In the most recent Olympics, we witnessed some heavily favored athletes miss the podium because their mindset was not in the right place to succeed. We also saw people who were not expected to win anything end up with a medal around their neck. Certainly, hard work and dedication played a role but the right mindset was often the performance differentiator between those who exceeded expectations and those who did not. The athletes and their coaches always talk about this. When you believe you can do something, you will find a way. When you have doubts, and you can't overcome them in the moment, you will fail.
